We are moving!
Our paper on PPARgamma regulated miR223 expression in ATM is just accepted by JCI! Thanks for Eddie, Alex, Richard’s and the great team efforts to achieve this. Cheers!
Congratulations to Haiqing! Her abstract is accepted by AHA Scientific Sessions 2015!
Hannah, THANK YOU for taking care of the team so well and best wishes to your new position! We will so glad to continue to have your support!
Our new Dr. Eddie fresh! Congrats. We will update pics soon.
Also the best luck to Ale heading England!
Congratulations to Tyler and Eddie!

Eddie will join UCSD as a postdoc after graduation from TAMU in May!
Richard presented his recent work at 2015 EB Meeting. Beiyan was invited for a presentation at the APS President Symposium Series at EB2015, Boston. (it was still snowing..)
Congratulations to Ben, who has been accepted to the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at UT Southwest Medical Center.
Richard and Alex presented to the board of AHA Central Texas at their annual meeting for the exciting research progress they have made during 2014. Several members also enjoyed the wonderful event.
Srikanth finished his defense and is ready to move to his new career. Hui and Dr. Wanhong Liu completed their research training as an exchange scholars and are heading back to China.
1. Congratulations to Tyler, Taylor and Ben, three excellent undergraduate students are accepted to the Undergraduate Research Honor Program (class of 2015).
2. We have three stories on the CVM Today 2014 issue. They are:
3. Welcome Ale (Alzahra Alshayeb) and Regan to join the lab
We had our first lab retreat to Galveston Texas 2014 before kicking off a new semester.
More pictures will be uploaded
Bye to Shikhi and Cody as they are heading to a new stage of the career with all our best wishes! School is the best place to watch those come and go. We hope each of us will leave your joyful marks while you stay and take a better package to the new step!
Welcome Dr. Liu, Ben and Hanah!
After a busy semester in the classroom, now we are racing on the bench for a busy summer.
Congratulations to Richard and Sri, who will be presenting their newest discoveries on the ADA conference in June.
We started 2014 with new members and new awards!
Congratulations to Richard who secured a CVM Graduate Student Research Grant after a short period after joining the lab! Keep up the curiosity-driven projects!
Congratulations To Eddie, who is recognized by our College with a High-Impact Award in the Large Grant category (for his AHA-predoctoral Award started from 2013 to 2015).
Congratulations to Shikhi! After graduation from TAMU in may, she will be a NIH-PostBac fellow to continue her exploration in hematopoiesis and transplantation!
Welcome our newest member Brenda, a freshman from Biology who will start her research journey for undergraduate research in our lab!
Cheers to Shikhi! She just received an Abstract Achievement Award from American Society of Hematology to present her first authored report on the Annual Conference in Dec at New Orleans. Her abstract tile is MiR-150 Inhibits MLL-AF9 Associated Leukemia By Suppressing Leukemic Stem Cells.
First thing first, Shikhi’s abstract was accepted to present at 55th ASH conference. Congrats!
Next, we added new members: Haiqing, who locks bikes close to hers! Hopefully, our newest member, Hui, will not do the same thing. Enjoy Aggieland.
Last month, our miR-223 story was selected by Editors of Circulation as one of the Top read articles in Molecular Cardiology.
Also, five members from our lab attended Whitehead Institute (@ WI/MIT) Colloquium. Everything was perfect, except it suppose to have six travellers…
*Welcome! Two new members just joined our team: Cheng-An “Richard” Change in July and Thomas Hunt in Aug.
* our article about miR-223 regulating macrophage polarization is highlighted in the Circulation Top Review series of “Circulation Editors’ Picks: Most Read Articles on the Topic of Molecular Cardiology” (Circulation. 2013;128:e88-e99)
* Our recent report on miR-150 suppressing MLL leukemia (MCR) was selected by Editors as the leading highlight in Aug issue of MCR, along with the introduction was our “leukemic cell” figure
*Congratulations to Eddie Wei Ying who just received a pre-doctoral fellowship from American Heart Association (Southwest Region)!
* Eddie also won one of the two “the 5th CADA Research Award” in Chicago! Our trip to CADA and ADA conferences in Chicago is filled with fun.
* Our new article about miR-150 suppressing MLL leukemia (MCR, Epub) is feathered by MDLinx and LeadDiscovery, and selected as leading highlight article in MCR Aug issue.
It is a wonderful March for the lab. We have several reasons to celebrate!
* First, Shikhi, Eddie and Sri, three members in our lab shared their exciting research with colleagues on campus during the SRW. Thank you all for your great talks!
* Bonus! Eddie won the second place in oral presentations in Medical Science Category.
* Third, a plaque for Outstanding Scientific Achievement is now in Beiyan’a office.
Congratulations to Eddie, who presented our very recent discovery on the Late Breaking Basic Science of Annual AHA conference.
Congratulations to Cong, who is awarded “Outstanding Graduate Student Scholarship” from our college.
Patali S Cheruku did an excellent platform presentation in the Student Research Week symposium on the topic of the regulatory mechanism of microRNAs in early B cell development. The graduate student Cong Meng is her mentor on this project.
