Dr. Bruna Correa Lopes

Bruna Correa Lopes earned her veterinary degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 2018 in Brazil. From 2013 to 2015 she completed an internship in the Veterinary Bacteriology Lab (LABACVET-UFRGS) and after this internship, she completed another internship in the Veterinary Pathology Lab (SPV-UFRGS) until 2018. In 2021, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Science collaborating with Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Desidério Finamor Veterinary Research Institute with the main focus on Bovine Tuberculosis and Veterinary Microbiology.

In 2021, Bruna was accepted by Texas A&M University to pursue a Ph.D. in the Gastroenterology Laboratory. Her Ph.D. research will be focused on the relationship between anaerobic bacteria and inflammatory intestinal diseases. Besides loving to study veterinary microbiology and disease pathogenesis, Bruna loves to play volleyball, read scientific books, watch movies, visit art museums and spend time outdoors.
