Lauren is a native Texan with a passion for animals, communication, and supporting others. A second generation Aggie, she received her bachelors degree in animal science at Texas A&M University in 2009, and an master of science in marketing from Texas A&M University in 2013.

Lauren began her professional life at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences immediately following her undergraduate education, providing administrative support to the Dean of the college. It was a natural fit, as her husband, Joe, was a student within the DVM professional program. During that time, she gained valuable work experience and continued to develop her passion for small business, which shaped her decision to return to a full-time master’s program. Following her graduation, Lauren became an independent consultant, working with small businesses, both start-ups and established, as well as non-profits. Her drive was to help small businesses reach their target markets and communicate more effectively with current and potential customers.

Following a move back to Bryan/College Station in fall 2016, Lauren rejoined the college. She is excited to bring her skills to the Office of Research & Graduate Studies and enjoys being a part of a high-functioning team that deeply values research activities and graduate education. In addition to providing executive support to the Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Studies, Lauren manages the logistics of a wide variety of activities.

Lauren and Joe are adoring parents to their little girl, Penelope James, and two pets, Shorty (a Miniature Australian Shepherd) and Zooey Deschanel (a Himalayan). Lauren loves creating things, from artwork to furniture, and is the happiest when she is in her workshop.
