We have opportunities for motivated undergraduate students, graduate students (MS, PhD), veterinary students, veterinary interns\/residents, and post-doctoral scholars to pursue research and gain experience in a team-based environment. She has presented her work at the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/the-vcrs.org\/meetings\/vcrs-symposium\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/the-vcrs.org\/meetings\/vcrs-symposium\/\">Veterinary Comparative Respiratory Society Symposium<\/a> in Magog, Quebec, Canada. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabrielle Toreja, PharmD:<\/strong> Current Texas A&amp;M PGY-1 Veterinary Pharmacy resident, completing research in Spring 2026 on the performance of compounded inhalation drug formulations in equine nebulizers. She will present her work at the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.svhp.org\/product-page\/45th-svhp-annual-meeting\">Society for Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists Annual Meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Rumfola, DVM:<\/strong> Current Texas A&amp;M Large Animal Internal Medicine resident, completed research in Spring &amp; Summer 2025 on the utility of jet nebulizers in food animals. She presented her work at the 2025 Texas A&amp;M VMBS Trainee Symposium, where she was awarded the People\u2019s Choice Award, and <a href=\"https:\/\/2025acvimforum.eventscribe.net\/fsPopup.asp?efp=U0FSS1hHWEYyMzY3OQ&amp;PresenterID=2099157&amp;rnd=9.940994E-02&amp;mode=presenterinfo\">presented her work<\/a> at the 2025 ACVIM Forum in Louisville, KY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-alumni\">Alumni<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reagan Stephens:<\/strong> Current Texas A&amp;M DVM student, completed research in Summer 2025 on the efficiency of equine nebulizers for aerosolizing pharmaceutical and therapeutic solutions for horses through the <a href=\"https:\/\/vetmed.tamu.edu\/vmsrtp\/\">Texas A&amp;M VMSRTP program<\/a>. Her work was funded by a Morris Animal Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morrisanimalfoundation.org\/veterinary-student-scholar-program\">Veterinary Student Scholars Grant<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Charles Lee:<\/strong> Texas A&amp;M DVM student, completed research in Summer 2025 on variability in drug aerosolization and efficacy of corticosteroid solutions using equine nebulizers. His work was supported through the <a href=\"https:\/\/vetmed.tamu.edu\/vmsrtp\/\">Texas A&amp;M VMSRTP program<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvmf.org\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.tvmf.org\/\">Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation<\/a>. He presented his research at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvmf.org\/inside-the-work-of-the-2026-tvmf-research-scholars\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.tvmf.org\/inside-the-work-of-the-2026-tvmf-research-scholars\/\">2026 TVMA Annual Conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ally Wethington, DVM:<\/strong> Currently pursuing an equine private practice veterinary internship at Rood &amp; Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. She performed pilot research in Fall 2024\u2013Spring 2025 on aerosol particle size generated by equine nebulizers, which was critical for securing grant funding, while completing her clinical year at Texas A&amp;M and graduating in May 2025. She will be entering a large animal internal medicine residency at University of Florida in Summer 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Au:<\/strong> Texas A&amp;M NTO-MS student, completed research in Summer 2025 on retrospective case-control analysis for prognostic markers in neonatal foals presenting to referral equine hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haven Erengil, DVM:<\/strong> Currently pursuing an equine private practice veterinary internship at Rhinebeck Equine Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY. She performed research in Spring 2025 on surface EMG (electromyography) and heart rate variability in therapeutic riding horses while completing her clinical year at Texas A&amp;M and graduating in May 2025. Haven served as an important team member in a <a href=\"https:\/\/stories.tamu.edu\/news\/2025\/06\/04\/horses-bring-hope-to-parkinsons-patients\/\">larger collaborative project<\/a> with Texas A&amp;M Kinesiology (Kennedy Lab), Equine Science (Jennifer Zoller), and the Institute for Equine Science. She will be entering a large animal internal medicine residency at University of Pennsylvania in Summer 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>We are so proud of our current and former lab members!
