4-H Members Tour CVM, Meet Dean

During the Texas 4-H Equine Ambassador Short Course on June 25, high school 4-H members toured the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, heard from Dr. Eleanor M. Green, the Carl B. King dean of veterinary medicine, and saw educational presentations from equine ambassadors.

The Texas 4-H Equine Ambassador program strives to provide high school aged 4-H members the opportunity to develop and practice advanced leadership skills related to mentoring other youth, and to become advocates for the equine industry in Texas.

Dr. Eleanor M. Green, the Carl B. King dean of veterinary medicine at Texas A&M, spoke to 4-H members.
4-H members visited the Texas A&M Large Animal Teaching Hospital.
Dr. Jim Heird, executive professor & coordinator of the Equine Initiative at Texas A&M, gave a presentation on the current trends and issues in the equine industry.
