CVM Volunteers Sought For Annual RodeoHouston Booth

CVM booth at Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo

The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) is saddling up to once again host a booth at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR) and is looking for volunteers to greet and discuss the college with guests.

Faculty and staff volunteers can assist by handing out promotional materials and answering questions from booth visitors during shifts from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 3:30-9 p.m. on Feb. 25 through March 17. Volunteers will be paired for each shift, as HLSR rules require the booth to be occupied during exhibit hours.

A meeting will be held on Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. in the Mark Francis Room (VENI Building Room 311), during which volunteers will receive instructions, including information on procedures, display information, literature and travel voucher information. Attendance is required

Volunteers should wear black slacks, khaki slacks, or dark-colored jeans without holes or tears, and a CVM shirt during shifts. For those who do not have a CVM shirt, arrangements have been made with the CVM Marketplace to offer a $30 voucher to assist in the purchase of a CVM shirt. When requesting your shift, please include any voucher requests, as well.

Shifts will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and will need prior approval from the volunteer’s department head or supervisor.

To sign up, email Stephanie Hollis with the date(s) and shift(s) you prefer, as well as a cell phone number.
