Biography

"My goal for teaching is to provide enough information to the students so they can be competent at performing a teeth cleaning, taking intraoral radiographs and extracting any tooth.  This is vital to a private practitioner.  I want the students to learn in a stress-free environment where they feel comfortable in learning and asking questions.

A teacher has to lead one to learning and not attempt to force learning.  A phenomenal instructor and orchestra conductor stated, “Give people a possibility to live into, rather than an expectation to live up to.” (Benjamin and Rosamund Zander in The Art of Possibility; Transforming Professional and Personal Life).   I think this best describes my approach to teaching."

TEACHING PROGRAMS:

I teach 31 hours of lecture and 24 hours of lab in the core and elective classes in the third-year veterinary curriculum. I have about 90% assignment in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital where I instruct and supervise fourth-year professional students and interns in veterinary small animal dentistry.
