Green Veterinarians (Green Vets)

Texas A&M Green Veterinarians (Green Vets) Student Organization

Purpose

The purpose of the Texas A&M Green Veterinarians (Green Vets) student organization is the conservation of animals and their habitats and how it relates to veterinary medicine. We strive to achieve this goal by educating members about local and global conservation issues and related research at Texas A&M and elsewhere, and by working within the community to use resources more efficiently.

Why should you join Green Vets?

Green Vets is not only for those interested in careers in conservation medicine; we want to equip all veterinarians to educate their clients and the public about environmental issues, endangered species and breeds, and how to live green.

Previous organization accomplishments

  • Establishing a recycling program at the VMBS
  • Getting double-sided printers in the VMBS computer labs to reduce paper consumption
  • Planting and maintaining a garden for students to enjoy
  • Supporting the main campus “Go Green” movement
