Transportation Tips

Airports to fly into:

Easterwood Airport  – College Station, TX

While tickets are often more expensive when flying directly into College Station, with careful shopping you can sometimes find fantastic deals. We encourage everyone to investigate this option first. If you are flying into Easterwood please email your itinerary at mlscogginn@cvm.tamu.edu, we are working on providing a shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport – Houston, TX

William P. Hobby Airport – Houston, TX

Driving time to College Station is approximately 2 hours from either airport in Houston. However there is a great shuttle servicethat you can use. They will get you to College Station for only $30 per person PREPAID ONLINE from George Bush International and $40 per person from Hobby. For more information see their website at www.groundshuttle.com.  Reservations can also be made by emailing reservations@groundshuttle.com or by phone at (855) 303-4415.

Dress Recommendations

The weather in January can range from dry and 80˚F to wet and 20˚F, and anywhere in between. We recommend dressing in layers as some labs are inside and some are outside, and we can never predict the weather in Texas. The website will be updated with weather predictions as wet lab approaches, so check back!

For the labs closed toed shoes are REQUIRED and coveralls are highly suggested. Many of the labs use fresh cadaver specimens and even the live animal labs can get VERY dirty.

Don’t forget to pack something to wear to Northgate if you plan on attending Night Out at Northgate! Whatever you would normally wear to a bar is fine, but this bar has a great dance floor where there will be lots of two steppin’!
