First\/2nd year students can participate in a 2-3 week modified Student Job Program to supplement your classroom education, while 3rd & 4th years can participate in our Externship Program to further hone your skills while preparing for, or while in, clinics. Positions are paid.
Hospital Shadow Days:
Curious about what a day in the life of a Banfield veterinarian looks like? If so, we have 2 locations in College Station and would love to have you spend some time with us! Shadow days are hosted by our Banfield veterinarians who are eager to meet with you and answer any questions you have.
Externship Program (clinical year):
Offered year-round for students in their clinical year. Participants spend their time in the program providing wellness care, completing physical exams, and helping to manage medical cases as a doctor-in-training. Placements are offered year-round at locations across the U.S. to accommodate student schedules and can last anywhere between 2-8 weeks.

We also have career opportunities for veterinarians throughout the U.S and Puerto Rico. We believe hiring doctors with diverse perspectives, ideas, and cultures, permits us to deliver to the highest quality of preventive care for each pet and client. Our teams foster an effective veterinary support team by communicating medical standards, ethical practices, and your veterinary knowledge and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health and well-being, we are also offering to pay your final year tuition for members of the Class of 2026 who accept offers by the end of this year 2025, who will also be able to refer classmates and earn referral bonuses upon joining us as a veterinarian after graduation.
