Congratulations to Tabitha Olsen, on Receiving a 2026 American Ornithological Society Research Grant!
The Schubot Center is thrilled to congratulate Tabitha Olsen (Tabitha OLSEN | PhD Student | Master of Science | Texas A&M University, College Station | TAMU | Department of Biology | Research profile) , a Schubot Center member and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) Ph.D. candidate at Texas A&M University, on receiving a 2026 American Ornithological Society (AOS) Research Grant (Research Grants – American Ornithological Society ). The competitive award provides $4,000 to support her research project, From Cropland to Colony: Diet Composition and Pesticide Contaminant Risk in Petrochelidon Swallows.
Tabitha’s research will examine how diet composition influences pesticide exposure in Petrochelidon swallows, providing valuable insights into the impacts of agricultural landscapes on wild bird populations and helping inform future conservation efforts.
Earlier this spring, Tabitha was also selected to receive a 2026 Schubot Center Mini-Grant, which provided critical seed funding for the project. Together, the Schubot Center and AOS funding will provide the support needed to launch this exciting research.
