STJR student Christina Sumners’ dream was to work with NOVA. Her internship allowed her to do so.<\/p>\n

This summer, Christina went to Boston to do a 10-week internship at NOVA. This science-themed television series has won multiple awards since it started in 1974. It is produced by WGBH, a leading public television station.<\/p>\n

“I had an amazing time,” Christina said. “NOVA is a wonderful place to work.”<\/p>\n

Christina says that her internship allowed her to put her writing and research skills to use. For example, she researched and wrote several blog posts<\/a> on animal cognition for the website InsideNOVA.<\/em><\/p>\n

She also took part in the planning and research that go into creating NOVA episodes. She fact-checked a script, found props, and even appeared as an extra.<\/p>\n

Christina plans to graduate in December. She hopes to work as a researcher or writer for a science television show.<\/p>\n
