Our Facilities
Veterinary Medical Park (VMP) facilities include approximately 185 acres of pasture space, plus indoor animal housing and surgical suites.
Pasture and Animal Housing
- Pasture and indoor housing for horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs
- Equine barn with convertible stalls
- 10 stalls at 12′ x 24′, or
- 20 stalls at 12′ x 12′
- 15 outdoor concrete pens for ruminants
- 10 buildings that support ABSL-2 research
Surgical Suites
- 2 surgical suites, one of which has ABSL-2 capabilities
- Suites include
- mechanical hoists,
- monitoring equipment,
- anesthesia machines,
- induction rooms, and
- recovery rooms
- Suites include
- Spaces for postoperative monitoring, treatments, and procedures

Research Management and Design
- Work closely with Texas A&M IACUC and the Texas A&M Office of Biosafety
- Experimental design and procedures
- Surgeries, anesthesia, sample collections, and other procedures as needed to meet research needs

Animal and Veterinary Care
