Genetics & Genomics
Areas of Study
VIBS geneticists research the genomes of diverse species. Their studies include comparative genomics, genomics of host-pathogen interactions, population genetics of various taxa (e.g. felines, canines, equines, bovines, and marsupials), molecular cytogenetics, and diagnostic tests for animal inherited diseases and traits. Several VIBS faculty members participate as mentors in the Texas A&M Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Genetics.
