Service Labs
Animal Genetics Laboratory
The Animal Genetics Laboratory offers DNA
genotyping used for identification, parentage verification, and
determination of specific homozygous/heterozygous gene mutations in
animals. The analysis provides useful information for diseases,
coat colors, as well as physical traits. Currently, the lab
provides routine services for testing horses, donkeys, cattle,
cats, and dogs, in addition to goats and sheep (upon requests).

The Image Analysis Laboratory provides
start-of-the-art optical microscopy technologies for research and
teaching in life sciences. Emphasis is placed on integration of
advances in vital analytical cellular imaging and fluorescence
probe technologies to provide the most sensitive approaches for
analysis of the molecular aspects of cellular function, an approach
we refer to as "cellulomics."

The Molecular Cytogenetics and Genomics Laboratory at Texas
A&M University performs a wide range of cytogenetic, molecular
cytogenetic, and DNA-based testing for clinical and research
facilities, private companies, veterinarians, breeders and animal
owners. Services include karyotyping, fluorescent in situ
hybridization (FISH), Sanger sequencing (ABI3730), and genotyping
(ABI3730).
The Trace Element Research Laboratory (TERL) is
dedicated to providing students with a high quality education in
environmental chemistry. Additionally, TERL supplies sponsors with
high quality trace element data and services in trace metals for
environmental samples. We are experienced in the use of clean (1
part per billion level) and ultra-clean (< 0.1 part per billion
level) sampling and preconcentration procedures required to
accurately measure ambient levels of trace metals in both
freshwater and seawater. TERL has participated in most major US
environmental monitoring programs over the past decade and has an
established reputation for accurate measurement of trace metal
levels in samples from even the most pristine environments.
