Emergency Medicine

The Emergency Service provides immediate evaluation, stabilization, and treatment for ill or injured animals that arrive at the LATH 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service also oversees the ongoing care for critically ill or injured animals and those recovering from surgery in the LATH’s ICU. In treating patients, emergency specialists interact with other LATH services to ensure each patient receives the best possible care. Among the hospital’s unique offerings is having the equipment, imaging capabilities, and one of the few people in Texas on faculty who can perform an intracarotid coil embolization for guttural pouch mycosis.
