HLSR Visits the CVM

Visit

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR) tour of VBEC facilities took place on Monday, Sept. 19. Members of HLSR said they were quite impressed with the CVM’s people, programs, and facilities. The HLSR is a valuable partner in higher education for Texas A&M. We were pleased to show them around our new education complex.

tour of Clinical Skills Laboratory

While the HLSR group were visiting our college two CVM ambassadors, Alex Casas and Chelsea Burleson, Dr. Eleanor M. Green, Dr. Kenita Rogers, Dr. Karen Cornell, Dr. Allen Roussel and Misty Skaggs gave them a tour of the hospitals. The group also toured the Clinical Skills Laboratory (VIDI 210) and the Center for Educational Technology Suite (VIDI 223), where special presentations on technological innovations in the curriculum and simulation models and scenarios had been set up by Dr. Jordan Tayce and Dr. Elizabeth Scallan.

CVM’s high-impact experiences

The group of 26 VIPs was split into two groups of 13 and then flip-flopped between those two areas in the education complex. They saw some of the CVM’s high-impact experiences that were designed to meet our students educational needs.
