Matthew

Matthew
Matthew is a class of 2028 Biomedical Sciences major, born and raised in Dallas. His interest in medicine and science began in his middle school science classes and deepened as several members of his family were diagnosed with cancer, exposing him firsthand to the impact of disease on both patients and their families. He plans to attend medical school after his undergraduate degree and pursue a career in pediatric oncology or hematology. While in college, he has gained clinical exposure by earning his EMT license and shadowing in a general pediatrics office; he also works with children, teaching tennis in the summer. He is active in a couple of student organizations, including NMDP, a student organization working to grow the stem cell registry by identifying potential donors for those who need a stem cell transplant. In his free time, Matthew travels with his friends, goes to all the Texas A&M sports events, and plays basketball.
