Through education, research, and outreach, the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) is committed to graduating Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), undergraduate, and graduate students who serve their patients, clients, and communities.

The Carl B. King Dean
of Veterinary Medicine
Nationally recognized veterinary medical leader Dr. Bonnie R. Rush became the dean of the VMBS on Aug. 1, 2025. She previously served as the Hodes Family Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. Over more than 30 years at Kansas State, Rush earned a reputation for advancing veterinary education, student wellness, faculty development, and community outreach, while championing research excellence and clinical service.

The VMBS has grown from a small school of veterinary medicine in 1916 to its present role as a major veterinary educational, medical, and research center.
The college’s administrative team includes the dean, the executive associate dean, associate and assistant deans, department heads, and staff leadership.
Dean’s Office staff members assist VMBS leadership and manage events and scheduling for the college. The office is also home to VMBS functional services.
