Katie
Katie is from Buda, Texas and a member of the veterinary class of 2026. She received her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from Texas A&M University in 2021 (despite her parents both being UT grads and huge Longhorn fans). During her undergraduate experience, she also studied genetics and psychology and participated in a neuroscience research lab.
Her interest in neuroscience led her to complete a Master’s degree in applied cognition and neuroscience from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2022.
Within veterinary medicine, small animal general practice is what she originally fell in love with while working as a kennel technician (and thinking she would become a physical therapist), but she’s enjoying getting to explore additional interests such as emergency medicine, surgery, and exotics.
During her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking with her dog (Evie), doing yoga, crafting, lounging on the couch with her cat (Sage), and spending time with her friends and family.
