Biomedical Sciences Undergraduate Program

The mission of the Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) Undergraduate Program College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) is to educate students who will create a healthier future for humans and animals through the medical professions, biomedical innovation and discovery, global service, and outreach.

The Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) programs in College Station and at the Higher Education Center in McAllen are designed to provide a strong, four-year education that emphasizes applied biology as directed toward health and disease and provides versatility for graduates.

Our advisors are committed to providing students with quality, timely advising. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be seen based on Navigate check-in and Zoom admittance. Please be aware that wait times may increase during peak advising.

With the implementation of President Welsh’s Quick-Look Assessment, BIMS moved back to the VMBS, which raised many questions for students. This page is a living document to which new questions can be submitted.

University Studies, Biomedical Sciences Concentration (USVM) is now open for Change of Major and Transfer students. At this time, we are not accepting incoming freshmen into the USVM degree. If you are interested or have questions, speak to one of our Academic Advisors!

The BIMS Undergraduate Program emphasizes both versatility in the biological and medical sciences and prioritizes a One Health approach to education through courses that emphasize the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental health while bringing together students with an interest in medical careers that impact all three.
