Emma
Emma is currently a Master’s student in the Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology program. Her childhood as an expatriate, where she regularly moved from country to country, sparked her passion for One Health. Witnessing the impact of zoonotic diseases like rabies in rural communities inspired Emma to focus on the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health to address global public health challenges.
An aspiring veterinarian, Emma has gained a wealth of experience in small animal, equine, and production animal medicine. During her time at Auburn University as an undergraduate, Emma served as the manager of equine care for Auburn University’s Division 1 equestrian team. She is currently involved in bioinformatic research through the Department of Veterinary Integrative Biosciences and is an active member of the Graduate Student Association.
In her free time, Emma loves to cook, though her dog, Teddy, often volunteers as an eager “taste tester” (sometimes without permission!). Her family currently lives in Ireland, and she enjoys spending time there hiking, cycling, and swimming.
