The Elane Equine Ischemia & Reperfusion Injury (EEIRI) lab is a developing research program in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.

Our goal is to implement novel methods for studying ischemic diseases of the equine intestine and improving outcomes for colic surgery patients. We aim to contribute to Texas A&M’s international recognition by advancing equine colic research, establishing collaborations across academic institutions, actively recruiting and training students in undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary disciplines, publishing results in renowned peer-reviewed veterinary journals, and presenting this research at conferences nationally and internationally.
