Dr. Jesse Hostetter

Jesse received his DVM in 1991 from Iowa State University. After 5 years of private small animal practice he returned to Iowa State for a combined veterinary pathology residency and PhD program in the Department of Veterinary Pathology. He finished his PhD in 2000 and completed his American College of Veterinary Pathology certifying exam in anatomic pathology in 2001. He is currently a professor of veterinary pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University and is also an adjunct professor in the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa. Jesse’s research is focused on intracellular enteric bacterial pathogens and the role of mucosal innate immunity in host defense to these agents.
