Fall 2010 Overview
August 25, 2010 – As the fall semester begins, the STJR program looks forward to another active year.
Of the 14 students now in the program, half are from the United States and half from other countries. Countries of origin include China, Ghana, India, Mexico, Nigeria, and Spain.
STJR students remain in high demand as graduate assistants. Some STJR students are serving as teaching assistants for writing-intensive courses for science majors. Other assistantship sites include the Texas A&M career center, the AuthorAID project, and the Texas A&M College of Geosciences communication office.
This summer, students finished internships at the American Water Works Association public affairs office and Science Editor magazine. Among sites of internships this fall are the John M. Eisenberg Center for Clinical Decisions and Communications Science, Texas A&M AgriLife Communications, and the communication office of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
