Begin an application with TMDSAS.
- Start your application by visiting the Texas Medical & Dental Schools Application Services website. (www.tmdsas.com)
- Write down your TMDSAS number.
- Double-check your TMDSAS number by logging into the TMDSAS portal and make sure it matches what you’ve recorded.
- Write down the application deadline for your application year.
- For example, the application deadline for entry year (EY) 2025 is August 30, 2024.
- All components of your application are due on this date.
- It’s suggested that applicants submit all components of the application well in advance of the deadline.
- Locate the “Veterinary Application Guide.” (tmdsas.com/application-guide/index.html)
- Locate the “Veterinary Journey” page on the TMDSAS website, which includes office hours, YouTube Channel links, and helpful videos. (tmdsas.com/veterinary/index.html)
- Locate the “FAQs” and “Application Video” links on the Texas A&M Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) website. (vetmed.tamu.edu/dvm/admissions)
- Identify three individuals to provide Letters of Evaluation.
- See the criteria described in the “Final Selection” section of the “Selection Process” page on the VMBS website. (vetmed.tamu.edu/dvm/admissions/selection)
- At least one evaluator must be a veterinarian.
- No evaluators can be relatives.
- See the criteria described in the “Final Selection” section of the “Selection Process” page on the VMBS website. (vetmed.tamu.edu/dvm/admissions/selection)
- Complete the Prerequisites to apply. (vetmed.tamu.edu/dvm/admissions/prerequisites)
- These three courses must be completed, or you must be enrolled in them, by the application deadline:
- Organic Chemistry I with lab,
- Physics I with lab, and
- Biochemistry I.
- If you are enrolled in these courses for the fall semester adjacent to the application deadline, they must be completed by December.
- Failure to complete any of these three courses by December of the application year will disqualify an applicant.

Contact your evaluators.
Do this early—do not wait until you are ready to submit your application!
- Visit the “Letters of Evaluation” page at TMDSAS. (tmdsas.com/application-guide/letters-of-evaluation.html)
- Provide the evaluators’ names in the “Letters of Evaluation” section of your started TMDSAS application.
- Select “Upload Directly” as a response to “indicate how your evaluator will send your letter to TMDSAS.”
- Enter a valid email for the evaluator. (Check your entry for typos.)
- Contact your evaluator to ensure they received an email from TMDSAS.
- Communicate the deadline for Letters of Evaluation to your evaluators!
- Letters of Evaluation are due to TMDSAS on the SAME DAY as the APPLICATION DEADLINE!
- Letters of Evaluation can be submitted separately from your application and before the application deadline.
Begin a VMBS supplemental application.
- After you have a TMDSAS ID, visit the DVM Admissions page on the VMBS website (vetmed.tamu.edu/dvm/admissions), and find the “Application Process” section.
- Click the “Supplemental application and fee” link.
- You will need your TMDSAS ID to input into the supplemental application.
- Make sure the TMDSAS ID you input MATCHES EXACTLY your TMDSAS ID.
- Mismatches in entering your TMDSAS ID can result in a failure to match the supplemental application with your TMDSAS application and affect your application review.
- Familiarize yourself with the VMBS DASHBOARD (accessed by starting the supplemental application process).
- Continue to monitor the dashboard throughout the application process.
- Pay your supplemental application fee in Flywire.
- It can take up to two weeks for the Flywire payment to match with your submitted supplemental application.
- Save your confirmation/receipt/proof of payment!
- Please Note: While supplemental application fees are due by Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CT, the fees may take up to two weeks to clear and show on your dashboard.
- Please save your receipt as proof of meeting the payment deadline.
- An applicant has met the supplemental application payment deadline as long as $75 is submitted and acknowledged in Flywire with a receipt time-stamped prior to the admission’s cycle deadline.
- Please Note: While supplemental application fees are due by Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CT, the fees may take up to two weeks to clear and show on your dashboard.

Complete the Casper test.
- Visit the Acuity Insights website to learn about the Casper situational judgment test (SJT). (acuityinsights.app/casper)
- Choose a date before the application deadline.
- You must sign up for the Casper test a minimum of three days before the test administration date. (my.acuityinsights.app/dates-times)
- It’s recommended that you take the test on the first available date you are able, so unexpected life occurrences won’t prevent you from meeting the deadline!
- The Casper test is due on the SAME DAY as the APPLICATION DEADLINE!
- You must sign up for the Casper test a minimum of three days before the test administration date. (my.acuityinsights.app/dates-times)
- Transmission of your Casper test score can be confirmed on your VMBS Dashboard.
- It can take up to two weeks for transmission of test scores.
- To prepare for the Casper test, it’s strongly suggested that you:

Make sure you have:
- Submitted your application to TMDSAS.
- Paid the TMDSAS application fee.
- Submitted your supplemental application to the Texas A&M VMBS,
- Paid the VMBS supplemental application fee.
- Verified that your evaluators have submitted their Letters of Evaluation.
- Completed the CASPer test in advance of the deadline.
- It’s recommended that you complete the Casper test two weeks or earlier ahead of the application deadline.
After you’ve submitted your application…
- Regularly monitor your email.
- Regularly monitor your VMBS Dashboard.
- Enter and/or update all of your grades for all courses taken after the deadline for application.
- Fall grades are due by the first Monday in January each year.
- Submit all transcripts when requested by TMDSAS.
If you are offered an interview…
Within seven days of your multiple mini-interviews (MMI) date:
- Visit Kira Talent Applicant Support. (support.kiratalent.com)
- Register for your MMI promptly.
- Complete your device setup on time.
- Prepare for using the Kira Talent platform by following the instructions to answer practice prompts during the registration process.
- The practice prompts offered during registration are designed to educate you on the MMI process. They are not representative of the interview questions.
