Sigma Xi Grant to Jordan Salomon
Jordan was selected to receive a Grant in Aid of Research from Sigma Xi to support her project to explore vector-host relations in the Chagas disease system. Jordan will conduct controlled ‘cafeteria trials’ to examine host preference in triatomines- whether they prefer to feed from humans, dogs, chickens, etc. Given these hosts have different abilities to harbor the Chagas parasite, this study will provide key vector behavior data that may explain patterns of infection we see in the field.
