Thank you Alamo Brittany Club!

Once again this year, the Alamo Brittany Club provided a donation to our canine Chagas disease research program to support ongoing and new efforts in the ecology, epidemiology, clinical aspects, treatment, and prevention of Canine Chagas disease. The Alamo Brittany Club is a registered American Kennel Club with a focus on conformation, obedience, agility, and field trial dog events that help promote a unique bond between humans and Brittany dogs. The club is based in Bexar County, Texas, and Chagas disease has impacted dogs of the club. Over the years, we have learned so much from the submission of kissing bugs from owners of dog kennels. We are so thankful for the sustained support and relationships with these dogs and owners who are on the ‘front lines’ of the fight against infected kissing bugs. Most recently, PhD/DVM student Rachel Busselman is leading an American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation-funded program to understand how canine systemic insecticides may be part of the solution.
