Italy Global Health & Lifestyle – Summer I
Program Description Italy Global Health & Lifestyle

Italy has one of the highest life expectancy rates in the world, making it ideal for studying the connections between culture, health, and medicine. Many researchers initially hypothesized that longevity was due to the Mediterranean diet alone. However, a wealth of more recent evidence suggests that this high life expectancy is due to La Dolce Vita — the Italian lifestyle that goes beyond diet by promoting rich social connections and enjoying the simple moments in life.

Students in this program study, research, and experience La Dolce Vita through transformative courses, hands-on workshops, and scholarly research.

This program is designed for junior and senior undergraduate students majoring in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, or Health who are interested in the relationships between culture, health, illness, and medicine. This program is particularly suited for those pursuing healthcare careers.
