TVMA Celebrates the CVM’s 100 Years

This year’s Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) conference proved to be a special time for our college, as the TVMA toasted the CVM’s 100-year anniversary.

Dan Posey, DVM ’82, 2017 TVMA President

Approximately 300 attendees gathered in San Marcos, TX to participate in continuing education, socialize with colleagues, and enjoy an impressive exhibit hall.

The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) hosted a booth at the conference. Welcoming attendees to the booth were Corrin Ordner and Whitney Brown from the Office of Veterinary Continuing Education. Dr. Sonny Presnal, director of the Stevenson Companion Animal Life-Care Center; Dr. Bubba Woytek, senior director of development; Dr. Jonathan Levine, head of the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences; and Dr. Kenita Rogers, executive associate dean of the CVM were all on hand to toast with the crowd.

Many of our faculty, staff, and students also attended the conference and were part of the CVM Centennial Celebration.

Levine provided an annual report of the CVM to the board of directors and Rogers spoke to the them about Serving Every Texan Every Day, our new college initiative.

The CVM will host the 2017 TVMA conference in College Station. Our own Dr. Dan Posey is now president elect of the TVMA!
