Biography

I am a clinical assistant professor at Texas A&M University at the School of Veterinary Medicine. I currently split my time between internal medicine, interventional radiology, teaching, research, and service to our department/hospital. I arrived at this position after a rigorous training program at NC State where I completed both a rotating internship and small animal internal medicine residency. I was fortunate to be mentored by truly amazing doctors who invoked a forever sense of skepticism and fostered my natural curiosity. I went into private practice as an internist in two busy metropolitan practices for a few years before a life-changing opportunity arose at the University of Georgia. It was there that I completed my fellowship in interventional radiology (IR) with a focus on urologic interventions where my passion for nephrology/urology and interventional procedures were solidified. After completing my fellowship, a long-term mentor of mine had a terrible injury to her arm and was unable to perform procedures. She asked me if I was interested in stepping in for a while she recovered. I was hired as a locum at Texas A&M and eventually, a full-time position was funded where I have helped create and build an IR service. I have an appointment with the Dog Aging Project and serve as their clinical veterinary liaison. This position has allowed me to have a much deeper understanding and desire to contribute to clinical trials in veterinary medicine. The combination of my cutting-edge training and clinical practice has uniquely positioned me to understand the goals of companion animal owners and to execute novel therapeutic solutions in client-owned animals.
