Angela Degelman

Biography

From the sunflower fields of Columbus, Kansas, to the heart of Aggieland, Angela Degelman has been calling Texas home since 1993. Drawn here by love and rooted ever since, Angie quickly embraced Aggie traditions (and maroon everything!) while launching her career at Texas A&M University as a staff assistant in the Department of Human Anatomy at the College of Medicine.

Her journey through higher education roles has been filled with grit and achievement. In 1996, Angie joined the Dean’s Office at the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, where a faculty member encouraged her to pursue her own educational dreams. A proud first-generation college student, she conquered an associate degree in Business Administration & Management at Blinn College (2002), then took it a step further with a bachelor's in Sociology from Texas A&M in August 2023—Whoop!

Armed with 16 years of experience as Program Coordinator II at Mays Business School, Angie reunited with her VMBS family in December 2021, now serving as the Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator for Graduate Programs. Angie’s expertise spans higher education administration, student affairs, graduate admissions, communications, and website wizardry, and her favorite role is always mentoring students to educational and career success.

At home in Kurten, Texas, Angie and her husband Alan enjoy country life on 10 acres, inhabited by an assortment of pets. Their son, Alexander, is a physical therapist, recently married, and their daughter, Austyn, is a published author.

When she’s not shaping futures and wrangling animals, Angie is an avid reader and writer with aspirations to one day join her daughter on bookshelf covers, and maybe even take the stage as a stand-up comedian. She believes life is best when learning, laughing, and making your own path.
