Elise Voltura, PhD, Awarded “Best Original Research Award”

Congratulations to Schubot Center member Elise Voltura, PhD, for being awarded “Best Original Research in 2023-2024” by the editors of the Journal of Avian Medicine & Surgery for her manuscript “Parrot Dietary Habits and Consumption of Alternate Foodstuffs.” The manuscript was part of Dr. Voltura’s graduate research and is co-authored with Schubot Center members Dr. Don Brightsmith, Dr. Jill Heatly, former member Dr. Juan Cornejo, former Schubot director Dr. Ian Tizard, and Dr. Chris Bailey from the Poultry Science Department.

The award will be announced at the 2024 Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) Annual Conference & Expo. The award comes with a generous $500 prize given by Lafeber Company.
