Dr. Wright is a senior research in avian vocalizations and a leader in parrot conservation. His research consists of the study of animal communication including physiological mechanisms, evolutionary processes, and how animal signals mediate social interactions. His work is largely conducted in parrots because of their learning vocal abilities and complex sociality. In this talk, he will be talking about the functions and mechanisms of vocal learning in parrots.
