Transfer Students

Any student who has attended college will be considered a transfer student. Transfer students will go through the same application process through the Texas Common Application as direct applicants.

Transfer students will require at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA and all Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) courses completed with at least a B in all courses to be considered. Those with 45 or more hours completed at the time of application will be given preference in admission. The transfer into Biomedical Sciences (BIMS) must occur before the student reaches 75 completed hours.

We’re looking for students with the curiosity, character, and grit to be change agents in their cities and neighborhoods across the globe, even beyond our galaxy. If this sounds like you, we want you to be an Aggie!

Change of Campus Requirements »

The BIMS degree can be completed at both the College Station campus and the Higher Education Center at McAllen. However, students may choose to complete a minimum set of requirements at one campus and then finish the degree at the other location. Please review the Change of Campus Requirements as early as possible to be prepared.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I take a course at a community college, will it transfer to Texas A&M?

You can use the Texas Common Course Numbering System to see if your course is equivalent to a course at Texas A&M. You can also use the Texas A&M Transfer Course Equivalency. If you have any questions, contact a BIMS advisor at bims@tamu.edu.

Where do I send a copy of my transcript for my transfer coursework?

Once you have completed your coursework and the grade has been posted, you will need to submit an official transcript to Texas A&M. Transcripts must be received directly from the other institution via an electronic copy or sent in a sealed envelope to the Office of Admissions. The mailing address and more information can be found here.
