Lea earned her veterinary degree from Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, in 2023. Driven by a strong interest in research and a lifelong passion for animal welfare, she joined the GI-Lab as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in January 2024 to pursue her Dr. med. vet. degree. At the GI-Lab, Lea focuses on gastrointestinal health research in animals, specifically investigating the prevalence of a parasitic infection that dogs can acquire in freshwater environments. In her free time, Lea enjoys traveling and engaging in various water-related activities, much like the dogs she studies in her research.
