Dr. Sudesh Thapa

Sudesh is originally from Nepal and completed his veterinary degree in 2023. After graduation, he spent two years working in small animal private practice, where he built a strong foundation in clinical medicine and discovered a growing interest in internal medicine and neurology. During that time, he also took part in the VIN Virtual Veterinary Internship and completed externships in Singapore, Malaysia, and India, hoping to learn how veterinary medicine is practiced beyond the borders of his home country.

In the summer of 2025, he joined the GI Lab at Texas A&M University under the mentorship of Dr. Joerg Steiner. His current research focuses on improving the diagnosis of Tritrichomonas foetus in cats. He’s passionate about advancing veterinary medicine through research and hopes to pursue a residency that allows him to grow both as a clinician and a scientist.

Outside of veterinary medicine, he enjoys exploring new places and cultures, with a lifelong goal of traveling the world, one destination at a time. He’s always on the lookout for good food, enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, and appreciates a quiet evening with music or a favorite sitcom. He also dabbles in photography and video-making just for fun, as a creative way to capture memories along the way. While not a fitness fanatic, he enjoys going to the gym and swimming to unwind and keep a healthy balance.
