So Young earned her master’s degree in Biochemistry from Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea in 1999. She worked as a research scientist at the Dept. of Physiology, Medical School, Chung-Ang University for 6 years.
Her family moved to Davis, California because of her husband’s postdoctoral fellowships at UC Davis. So Young worked as an assistant specialist at the Dept. of Pharmacology, Medical School, University of California at Davis for 4 years.
Her family moved to College Station, Texas in December, 2012. So Young has been working at Texas A&M University since January, 2013 and joined the GI Lab in May, 2014. So Young lives with her husband and 2 teenage boys. In her free time, So Young enjoys spending time with family, swimming, cooking and going to church in Houston on Sunday.
