Dr. Tessy Lozano Fernandez was born and raised between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
She graduated veterinary school from the Universidad de Guadalajara in 2013. Afterward, she worked in several private practices in Mexico, gaining experience in general medicine, sports medicine, emergency and critical care, and mare reproduction management for breeding with fresh, cooled, and frozen semen, among other areas. In 2021, she began a three-year intensive internship at Retama Equine Hospital in San Antonio, where she provided services in medicine, surgery, and reproduction. Dr. Lozano is now beginning her residency in Equine Theriogenology at Texas A&M, where she will continue to enhance her expertise in equine reproductive health. When she’s not working, Dr. Lozano loves spending time with her Doberman Sirius, who never leaves her side, Face Timing her family, and playing soccer.
