Outreach

At the very heart of VERO is its robust outreach mission, which includes programs for secondary and undergraduate students as well as livestock workers. Working with faculty from the Paul Engler College of Agriculture & Natural Sciences at West Texas A&M University (WT), VERO is developing a seamless, overarching educational program to serve the region’s rural communities, their children, and their employees.

• VERO offers programs that contribute to livestock and veterinary career education for 4-H and FFA students, as well as their leaders, agents, and teachers.
• VERO faculty provide mentorship to pre-veterinary students at WT and other regional colleges and universities.
• VERO continues to expand its outreach mission by providing livestock worker training and veterinary continuing education (CE) in production management, livestock well-being, and safety, including certification programs where appropriate.
