Pearl Enfield Staff Leadership Award
About the Award
Purpose
The purpose of the Pearl Enfield Staff Leadership Award is to commemorate the contributions of Pearl Enfield, a dedicated staff member of the VMBS who passed away in 1996, after more than sixteen years of service to the college and university.
Scope
The intent of this award is to recognize an individual who characterizes the standards of excellence exemplified by Ms. Enfield.
Guidelines
- One nomination may be submitted by each department/unit per year.
- In addition to the nomination form, up to three letters of support may accompany the submission.
- Only individual letters will be accepted. Support letters from members of the VMBS Staff Recognition Committee are not allowed.
- The nomination statement should be a maximum of two pages in a 12-point font size. It should summarize the contributions of the nominee and the impact of the nominee’s contributions to the betterment of Texas A&M University and the VMBS.
- The nomination statement should include specific examples and descriptions of the nominee’s accomplishments.
- No more than three one-page letters of support or recommendation may be included in the nomination packet.
- Nominations will be evaluated on customer service, initiative, and responsible stewardship.
Criteria
- The nominee should have a minimum of five years of employment at the VMBS by Aug. 31 of the current year.
- The nominee should exhibit exceptional skills in many or all of the following areas:
- Leadership in their department, the VMBS, and the university
- Mentoring and professional development skills towards co-workers
- Interpersonal skills in interactions with administration, faculty, staff, students and the public
- Assumption of responsibility over and above position requirements in the VMBS, the university, and the community
- Individuals are eligible to receive the Pearl Enfield Recognition Award if they have not received this award in the last five years.

W. Terry Stiles Service Award
About the Award
Purpose
The purpose of the W. Terry Stiles Service Award is to formally recognize hospital staff who demonstrate exceptional service in support of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH).
Scope
The intent of this award is to recognize an individual who exhibits exceptional skills in many or all of the following areas:
- clinical service,
- patient service,
- client service, and
- service to the profession.
Guidelines
- Nominations should be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Chief of Staff to the Associate Dean of Hospital Operations.
- The nomination statement should be a maximum of two pages in a 12-point font size. It should summarize the contributions of the nominee and the impact of the nominee’s contributions to the betterment of Texas A&M University, the VMBS, and the VMTH.
- The nomination statement should include specific examples and descriptions of the nominee’s accomplishments.
- No more than three one-page letters of support/recommendation may be included in the nomination packet.
- Nominations will be evaluated on clinical service, patient service, client service, and service to the profession.
Criteria
- The nominee should be a full- or part-time budgeted employee of the VMTH
- The nominee should exhibit exceptional skills in many or all of the following areas
- Clinical service, through the support of clinical faculty in outstanding patient care
- Patient service, through the dedicated effort to prevent and cure disease in animal patients
- Client service, through focusing on the needs of animal owners, veterinarians, and other VMBS constituents to ensure an exceptional client experience
- Service to the veterinary profession, through the education of tomorrow’s veterinarians
- Individuals are eligible to receive the W. Terry Stiles Service Award if they have not received the award in the last five years.

VMBS Staff Recognition Awards
About the Award
Purpose
The purpose of the VMBS Staff Recognition Award is to formally recognize demonstrated outstanding performance and accomplishment on the part of staff employees of the VMBS.
Scope
The intent of this award is to recognize ten qualified staff employees who characterize a commitment to excellence through
- customer service,
- initiative, and
- responsible stewardship.
Guidelines
- One nomination for every ten staff may be submitted by a department/unit each fiscal year.
- Only one nomination packet per individual may be forwarded to the committee; to prevent duplicate nominations, departments/units should coordinate nominations prior to submission. In addition to the nomination form, up to three letters of support may accompany the submission.
