January 2025 update from Tambopata, Peru
Our January expeditions were WET… VERY WET!. Camping in the rain is always a challenge, but this time, it never really stopped!. Despite the downpour, our field team worked extra hard—climbing trees and checking nests between showers. So far, we have 9 chicks in 5 nests… and counting!
We’re also deeply grateful to Harrison’s Bird Foods for their invaluable support, which helps us continue our wild psittacine research. And special thanks to ProCiencia for always championing scientific research in Peru.
