The Macaw Society presence in the “II Ornithological Congress of the Americas”

Thrilled to announce the success of the “Innovations in Psittacine Release from a diversity of perspectives” symposium at the II Ornithological Congress of the Americas. Global experts shared invaluable insights into parrot reintroduction, including the Lear’s Macaw, Green-winged Macaw, Vinaceous-breasted Amazon, Yellow-naped Amazon, and Grey-breasted Parakeet. Ground-breaking efforts to bring back Spix’s Macaw were also highlighted. The symposium explored the challenges, advances, and innovative strategies in parrot reintroduction. Thank you to our co-directors, Dr.Donald Brightsmith and Dr. Erika Pacifico, for their exceptional leadership!
