Seeking Externs and Full-Time Veterinarians
Housing available

My Pet’s Vet, a growing small animal day practice in San Antonio, is looking for the right doctor to join our team. We are seeking both a part-time and full-time doctor.
In addition to practicing best medicine, our primary operating goal is to create a pleasant work atmosphere with a happy staff that wants to come to work. The number one reason most of our doctors chose to work for My Pet’s Vet is because they felt the positive environment and happiness of our staff. Each hospital operates in many ways as a private practice with full medical autonomy, and we strive to give our staff the opportunity to grow and achieve, allowing them to better serve our patients and clients. We work hard to build teams working together in pursuit of our mission- Healthy Pets and Happy Parents.
• Heavy quarterly profit-sharing bonus for the entire team (20%-25% of profit is paid back to the hospital staff) promoting teamwork and providing opportunity to thank each team member for their contribution to the hospital’s success.
• Quarterly performance reviews and raises for non-dvm staff to recognize the growth and contribution of each employee
• A budget of up to $1500/month for discretionary services, including hardship cases, especially when we can prevent a pet from being surrendered or economic euthanasia. A great “feel-good” opportunity for the doctor and team while helping the pet.
• Frequent Adoption Days (hospital covers cost of adoption fee from local rescue group to help pets find their forever-homes). A wonderful team-building event for the staff and a great way to connect with the community
• Tuition assistance and unlimited approved CE opportunities
We want to provide as much support as possible to our doctors, allowing them the freedom to focus on practicing medicine:
• 6:1 Staff to Doctor Ratio (technicians are responsible for medical record entry, invoicing, client education, treatment administration)
• Field operations support
• Central support team for human resources, accounting, marketing, administration
If interested in learning more about opportunities (including externships), or if you would like to schedule a tour of our practice – please email me, Sarah Stevenson, at sstevenson@mypetsvetgroup.com, or text/call me at (210-355-8302)

Seeking Externs and Full-Time Veterinarians
Paid externships and housing available

Howdy from Firehouse and Goodheart! We are a group of full-service small animal general practices offering high-quality medicine and exceptional client service. We’re always excited to meet the next group of Aggie veterinarians, and we want to invite you to learn more about externships and other opportunities at our hospitals. Hosting students who are eager to learn allows us to contribute to our profession and is also a great way to keep our own knowledge and skills fresh and sharp.

We are looking for veterinary students who want to gain experience in a high-quality small animal practice, have a positive outlook and love connecting with clients (even if it still makes you nervous), and are ready to jump in and grab opportunities to learn as they come your way. Our externship program is open to vet students in any stage of their education, and we host externs year-round for 2 weeks per student.

Our Veterinary Externship Program relies on student-driven learning to improve your clinical skills and, for those who are interested, your business acumen as well. In addition to shadowing our doctors during appointments and assisting with surgeries, we may ask you to research a medical topic and present to our team or join us at a community event to connect with new clients.

We trust your school to prepare you for the NAVLE. We want to help prepare you to be a happy, productive practitioner of veterinary medicine and an important member of your community. We also enjoy helping students with their own extracurricular goals, such as completing your VBMA Honors Portfolio.

We are also proud to support student-led organizations whose missions we share and have met many of our favorite externs through our work with VBMA and PrideSVMC.

We hope to see you at our Firehouse Tailgate to see the Aggies BTHO New Mexico State on November 16th!

We are in Austin, Texas and Denver, Colorado! We currently have seven hospitals in the Austin area and three in Denver. Each of our locations has something unique to offer. We LOVE to talk about what sets us apart, so please reach out or explore our sites to learn more about us. Be sure to check out our “100 Little Things!”

At our veterinary practice, we believe that effective teamwork is essential for providing the best care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. Each member of our staff understands the importance of collaboration, working together to achieve our common goals. We support one another, valuing each person’s contributions and expertise. We are looking for an extern candidate with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in mixed animal medicine. The candidate is also someone that has the ability to work well in a team environment. The externship itself is designed to provide practical training and exposure to a wide range of cases, allowing students to apply their classroom knowledge in a clinical setting. The extern will participate in rounds, case discussions, and client consultation. There will be opportunities to assist veterinarians in daily patient care activities and to perform basic diagnostic procedures under supervision (e.g., physical exams, sample collections). Shadowing surgeries and other specialized procedures will also be offered.
