Texas A&M Student Chapter of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SCACVIM)
Purpose
The purpose of the Chapter is to promote the specialties of neurology, cardiology, oncology, large animal internal medicine, small animal internal medicine, and nutrition through the advancement of knowledge to veterinary medical students.
About
We meet monthly throughout the semester in individual and joint club meetings. Membership comes with eligibility for participation in a variety of wet labs, opportunities to participate in a panel with current residents at Texas A&M, lunch meetings with diplomats on varying topics, and volunteer opportunities.
SCACVIM hosts guest speakers who discuss various aspects of internal medicine. Students will gain exposure to clinical and research developments in the field outside of the classroom setting. Wet labs facilitated by faculty and clinicians allow students to interact with experts who will demonstrate current diagnostic techniques that are routinely used in internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and/or neurology services.
