We are looking for an extern candidate with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in mixed animal medicine. The candidate is also someone that has the ability to work well in a team environment. The externship itself is designed to provide practical training and exposure to a wide range of cases, allowing students to apply their classroom knowledge in a clinical setting. The extern will participate in rounds, case discussions, and client consultation. There will be opportunities to assist veterinarians in daily patient care activities and to perform basic diagnostic procedures under supervision (e.g., physical exams, sample collections). Shadowing surgeries and other specialized procedures will also be offered.
