Veterinary Hospital of New Waverly provides veterinary services for companion animals, equine, and some food animal/ exotic patients throughout New Waverly, Texas and surrounding areas. We are a family owned and operated hospital with strong Christian values and a family oriented working environment. At Veterinary Hospital of New Waverly we treat all of our patients with the same care and concern we would give our own.
Our location is about 55 miles east of Texas A&M University, and 55 miles north of Houston. We are currently a 3 doctor practice with several regular relief Veterinarians. We see 75% small animal, 23% equine, and 2% food animal and exotics. We provide house calls for both small and large animals, virtual emergency consults after hours, and urgent care and emergency cases during the day. We utilize a 25+ highly skilled team, including LVTs and CVAs. VHNW is a training facility mentoring veterinary, pre-vet, LVT, and CVA students. We are a strong technician driven diagnostic hospital that partners closely with a boarded radiologist and boarded surgeon that come regularly.
We recently remodeled our hospital which is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am-6pm. Closed on Weekends.
The hospital is very well equipped with 7 exam rooms, digital radiology, two ultrasounds, digital dental radiology, cold laser, inhouse labs (IDEXX), 4 treatment tables, 2 surgery tables, a true dental table, EKG, blood pressure monitoring, anesthesia machines, and much more! Our records are fully computerized using a cloud based system, and each room is equipped with a laptop. Dr. Steve has his masters degree in equine reproduction and practices it routinely with equine embryo transfer, semen collection, and insemination. Dr. Kim incorporates an integrative approach to veterinary care, seamlessly blending both Eastern and Western practices for a holistic and comprehensive approach with acupuncture, food therapy, and Chinese herbs.
As an extern or recent graduate at Veterinary Hospital of New Waverly you can expect to have exposure with high quality medicine in many different fields of veterinary medicine. As a new graduate at the hospital you can expect to have a mentor present either in person or by phone whenever you need it.
